How much does water meter replacement cost in Kyiv?

Standard replacement of one accessible apartment meter costs UAH 550. Two meters at one address cost UAH 1,080. For two or more, the rate is UAH 540 per meter.

What is included in UAH 550?

The technician visit, water shut-off using a working valve, removal, installation of a compatible meter, basic sealing materials, a leak test and a work completion certificate. The new meter and non-standard plumbing work are not included.

Can you install a meter I already own?

Yes. Check the DN, installation length, temperature rating and flow direction. Send clear photos of the label and the full assembly so the operator can check compatibility.

What is a prepared connection for initial installation?

It has accessible pipes with suitable threaded connections, working shut-off valves and enough space for installation. Riser tapping, welding, new pipework or rebuilding the connection is charged separately.

Who performs official sealing and utility-account registration?

What does document support include?

How long does replacement take and is an urgent visit available?

Should I verify or replace the meter?

The statutory verification interval for water meters is four years. Verification checks the accuracy of a serviceable meter; replacement resolves a fault or incompatibility. If documents are missing, first check whether a copy or verification record can be recovered. Replace the meter when recovery is impossible, the device is faulty or continued use is uneconomical.

What warranty do I receive?

Installation work has a 24-month warranty under the Mastergaz public offer. The meter is covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. Keep the work completion certificate and the meter documentation.

Is meter verification still required during martial law?

Cabinet Resolution No. 412, which extended expired verification results, ceased to apply on 4 June 2023. Resolution No. 440 is now in force. In Kyiv, do not assume verification is automatically postponed; check the meter documents and the current provider procedure.

How long does official utility-account registration take?

Under Order No. 270, an apartment allocation meter is accepted into the utility account within 14 calendar days after a proper application is received, and the provider assigns the inspection and sealing date within 5 calendar days.

What should I do if the old meter has an official seal?

Do not break the seal yourself. Mastergaz will do everything properly.

How to choose and prepare a water meter for replacement

Before replacing an apartment water meter, check technical compatibility rather than relying only on the brand. DN15 meters with a 110 mm installation length are common, but some assemblies use DN20 or 130 mm devices. An incorrect diameter or length can require pipe alterations.

Take four clear photos: the full assembly; the label on the dial or body; both threaded connections; and the shut-off valve and filter. The photos should show the flow direction, access to the nuts and the space around the meter. A hot-water line requires a model with the correct temperature rating.

Check whether the apartment shut-off valve works. If it does not stop the water, standard replacement cannot proceed without additional work. Corrosion, leakage, damaged threads, distorted nuts, a blocked filter or a missing check valve may indicate that the assembly requires repair. Identifying these issues from photos helps avoid an unexpected second visit.
