FAQ

Question |
Answer |
|
How often should an electric water
heater be cleaned? |
There is no single interval for
every model. Follow the manufacturer’s guidance and consider water quality,
use and actual symptoms. |
|
How long does cleaning take? |
A standard job is often completed
in one visit. The exact time depends on the design, deposits, access and
whether removal is required. |
|
When can a technician attend? |
A coordinator offers the nearest
available time window for your district. Urgent attendance is checked
separately and is available only when a technician is free. |
|
Is the anode included? |
Labour to replace one standard
anode is included in full cleaning when required. The anode itself is billed
separately after approval. |
|
How much is heating-element
replacement during cleaning? |
The combined labour rate starts
from UAH 450 because the unit is already dismantled. The element is extra.
Stand-alone replacement labour starts from UAH 800, subject to the UAH 1,000
minimum repair order. |
|
How much is diagnosis? |
Diagnosis is included when
cleaning or repair is completed. If no work is carried out, call-out and
diagnosis are UAH 600. |
|
Why are some labour rates below
UAH 1,000? |
They are calculation or combined
rates within an order. A stand-alone on-site order with repair work has a
minimum total of UAH 1,000. |
|
Must a horizontal unit be removed? |
Not always. If removal is
required, removal and refitting are approved separately and start from UAH
720. |
|
How is a flat or twin-tank model
priced? |
The base price follows total
nominal capacity. A surcharge from UAH 700 depends on the tanks, flanges,
elements, anodes and access. |
|
What warranty is provided? |
The period depends on the work and
part. It is confirmed before work under the current warranty matrix and
stated in the service report. |
|
What if an urgent visit ends
without repair? |
The charge is UAH 600 for call-out
and diagnosis plus UAH 400 for urgency, totalling UAH 1,000. |
|
Which areas do you cover? |
All Kyiv districts. More
technicians are based on the Left Bank, but Right Bank bookings are also
accepted. |
|
Why do older reviews mention
different prices? |
Reviews reflect the terms on the
original job date. Current prices and warranty terms are shown in the
relevant sections. |
What
affects water heater cleaning prices in Kyiv
Tank capacity is only the first factor. Labour
also depends on vertical or horizontal mounting, access to internal components,
and the number of tanks, flanges, heating elements and magnesium anodes.
Standard designs use the published capacity grid; complex construction and
parts are priced separately.
Why
scale and deposits form
Minerals in water can settle on the heating
element, tank base and flange during heating. The rate depends on water
quality, temperature, usage and design. Deposits can increase heating time,
create noise and reduce heat transfer, but there is no universal percentage
energy saving that applies to every property after cleaning.
When
repair is needed instead of preventive cleaning
If the unit does not heat, trips the breaker,
overheats, leaks, or smells burnt, the cause may be the heating element,
thermostat, control board, valve, gasket, or corrosion. Diagnosis comes first.
The technician explains the required work and price, and any additional fault
found after dismantling requires separate approval.
Photos
for a preliminary estimate
Send one close-up of the data plate and one
photo of the full unit and installation area. The label usually shows the make,
model, serial number, capacity and power. Photos help identify orientation,
likely construction and access, but do not replace an on-site inspection.
Preparing
for the visit
Do not dismantle or drain the unit unless
instructed. Clear safe access, remove fragile items, and tell the coordinator
about leaks, burning smells, or breaker trips. Stop using the unit if there is
an electrical fault or tingling sensation.
Planning
the next service
Keep the service report and job date. This
makes it easier to track when the anode, heating element, valve, and leak
tightness were checked. Plan the next inspection according to the
manufacturer’s guidance, operating conditions, and the unit's actual condition —
not a universal interval.
